Make do & mend

This is the laptop I dream of...
the beautiful MacBook Air

And this is the one I have in reality...

Yep, while half the world goes wireless I seem to be collecting cabling! It's my own fault. I spilled a cup of coffee over mylaptop keyboard sometime ago. I then purchased a wireless keyboard, which was great for a few months until I accidently dropped that on the floor and...kaput. Not wanting to throw (literally) good money after bad I decided to go back to basics (again, literally) and purchased an Argos Basics wired keyboard...which wouldn't plug into my laptop as it was a PS2 connector, instead of USB. So then I had to purchase an adapter too! P.S. Hope you're impressed at my IT savvy!

The laptop is now cumbersome, heavy and, at times, temprametal. It's now about three years old and often runs at snails speed.I could have purchased a new top of the range model and paid for it on a credit card, worrying about the payments later. But that's not my style. So, instead, I'm hoping that Nev and I can pool any Christmas money we'll get this year to purchase a shiny new (shared) laptop. Admitedely not a MacBook Air, but perhaps one we can take out of the house without the need for a trolley would be a good start! If Santa doesn't bring the funds, then we'll be looking to save, save, save. But in the meantime it's make do & mend all the way - much better than getting into debt.
