. . .with Internet Banking.
I was a devout Internet Banker, until I recently lost my log-in number. Having to queue up in the bank during my lunch break wasn't much fun. Plus, the payment of my bills/transfer of funds was subject to a number of factors:
1.) Me actually getting time to have a lunch break in which to visit the bank
2.) Me actually remembering to put my cheque book/paperwork/paying-in book into my bag
3.) Me realising the bill was due in the first place - tendency to put it to one side and forget about it anybody?
Anyway, these three issues resulted in me being late with one of my Barclaycard payments and incurring an ghastly interest charge! That's certainly not very budget-friendly. Vowing to never get in this position again. I visited my bank and asked for new log-in details. Now I'm up and running again and can check my balance when (and where) I want, as well as ensuring the bills are paid as and when they come in. Plus, it means I don't have to waste my lunchtimes queuing in busy banks. I often log on while I'm waiting for my tea to cook and have my finances done and dusted by the time dinner is on the table.
If you want to get set up for Internet Banking, speak to your bank who will be able to tell you how to get logged on. But do exercise some caution when banking over the Internet - a bit of safety savvy is essential. Here the good ole Beeb gives us some handy hints on keeping safe online.
Happy banking! xx
