How crap is that, eh?
On the plus side:
- I'm not overdrawn
- I don't owe anything on either of my credit cards
- In fact, I had a letter from the bank informing me that it had been so long since I last used one of my cards that they were going to cancel it - hooray!
- I'm putting aside money every month, ready for those nasty annual bills
I guess trying to save £5k in a measly 12 months was a tad over ambitious. Especially when I'm so used to splashing the cash!
But, it's not all doom and gloom. Within the 10 months that this 'experiment' has been running, I have changed my spending behaviour. When I have a bad day, I no longer head to the shops to treat myself. When I do go shopping and see something I like, I stop and think do I really need this? And, well, my outlook on money has changed completely! Although my friends probably think I'm well stingy. Lol!
So, I will persevere with the whole money saving malarky. There's still two months of this year left, so there's still some opportunities to make/save some more mullah. And, if I don't - well at least this can be the year that I, as Amy Winehouse would say, went 'back to black'. . ?
