By 'Eck I'm a Talented Lass!

Clearly uninspired by the baffoons at the gym, whose talents certainly don't lie within the realms of customer service! I got to thinking about what skills could make me some cash...

What talents do I have? And, more importantly how could they earn me a speedy buck?

Here goes...
  • Marketing - maybe freelance/consultancy work? Although could be very time consuming and a bit dull doing it as my day job and my evening job.
  • Writing - freelancing? Would luuuuuurve to do this, but it's majorly competitive and also very time consuming.
  • Crafts - card making/scrap booking/chocolate making - strictly speaking I can only do the card making aspect of this so far, but I have this romantic notion of hosting a stall at the local craft market on a Saturday selling my homemade wares - again, I'm aware that it's very competitive, but perhaps there's an opportunity to sell to family and friends initially? Maybe could branch out into making wedding favours etc... I really enjoy crafting, so it wouldn't feel particularly like work.
  • Cleaning/Car Washing - more 'skills' than talents, and very dull ones at that, will keep those in reserve for the time being methinks.
  • Organisation/admin/event planning - but how can you realistically use them to make money outside of your 9-5? Any ideas?
  • Envelope stuffing/admin - yawn, why am I good at some darn boring stuff?
  • Blogging - well, only you can decide if it can really be classed as a talent or not, I do have slightly bigger plans for Babe on a Budget, but they're 'in progress' at the moment. One for the back burner methinks.
Well, for the time being it looks as though I'm going to be either crafting away like a biddy on speed, or trying to flog my wonderfully crafted writing (a-hem) to some lovely publications. From watching The Apprentice tonight, I know it's not as simple as just going out there and setting up stall, so I think a bit of research and a few SWOT analyses might be called for. Until then, I'll see if I can find other ways people make a bit of cash outside of their 9-5 to share with and maybe even inspire you .

PS> Watching The Apprentice also made me want to go shopping in the centre underneath Canary Wharf - best get my entrepreneurial skills kicked into shape if I've got my sights set on shopping sprees of that magnitude!
