After much rejigging and furrowing of Babe's brow (not good - do you know how expensive Botox is?!) I've finally worked out my budget for this month. I've zapped some of my superficial savings accounts for the time being to plough into paying off my debts and as a result I am £165.41 in credit - Yay!
I've set up lots of fancy things on MS Money to help me keep track of my finances and I'm going to do a spending diary for the month of March to enable me to construct a more accurate budget.
My priorities at present are:
1.) Create a £300 'buffer' in my current account, £150 of this will transfer to our joint account when we set one up.
2.) Pay off car loan - approx £2205 left to pay, and if I can settle early just think on how much I can save in interest
3.) Get three months salary in a savings account in case life goes pear shaped
4.) Start savings proper
Not quite the quick fix saving towards a deposit I had in mind, more a case of the slow tortoise I guess!
