George Michael Empties My Bank Account!

Damn you, Mr Michael. If you're not conducting lewd acts in public conveniences you're raiding my bank account!

Discovered tickets for George Michael gigs go on sale at 10am tomorrow. I could have called the priority Box Office number and got my tickets today (before anyone else mwahahahaha!) if, like most people, I was allowed to check my emails during my lunch break at work, and therefore had found out about it before 11pm this evening - when, alas the Box Office was closed.

As my place of work is as strict about mobile phone usage as it is personal emails, I reckoned getting tickets tomorrow would be nigh on impossible. I decided to peruse George's website and discovered that by joining his Fan Club you can get your mitts on tickets before anyone else. I know, I know. I wouldn't do it for anyone else, not even Robbie. But after seeing him in concert at the NEC I was on such a high that no drug could ever give - some things are, as the ad says - priceless!

Anyway, £23 later and I was a fully fledged member of the George Michael Fan Club, £126 later and I had two tickets for George in Manchester on 19th June! Hopped onto some cheap hotel websites and provisionally booked a room to avoid the rush once the tickets go on general release tomorrow. Oops!

I have no idea who I'm going with, how I'm going to get there, or anything really! Talk about an impulse purchase. Never mind shopping in the market this week. It's going to be 9p noodles from Tesco's at this rate!

* You might be able to get a lift share and cut down your travel costs. There are various sites on the internet, just Google around.

* It won't work for this particular journey, but if you're travelling anywhere else over the course of the next year, check out the megabus.com and megatrain.com sites for cheap coach and train travel between a limited number of destinations.

* Also, I recall reading something about 'sofa surfing', there's a whole network of people around the world who crash on the sofa at the homes of random people around the world.

A woman of excellent taste. Money spent on George Michael will never be money wasted! (Mind you the only time I managed to do it was at the NEC circa 1986)

Thanks for pointing me in the direction of your fab blog. I'll add you to my list and check back on how you are doing, £5,000 is a LOT of money, good luck.
