Cheap Mobile Phones

When looking for a new mobile phone deal, whether contract or pay as you go. It’s important to remember that there’s no ‘one size fits all’ solution. The way we use our phones is as individual as our finger prints. Some of us are serial texters, others just can’t stop yakking away, and some simply keep their trusty moby on hand incase of emergencies.

So, before you even start looking (and getting tempted by the amazing array of handsets out there – I’m in love with both the
MOTORAZR V3 Lilac and anything with Blackberry capabilities) take a look at the way you use your mobile. How many calls do you make? Who are they to? What network are those people on? What time do you tend to call them? How long for? How many texts do you use in an average month? Do you use WAP? Photo Messaging? Video Messaging? Once you’ve got an idea of your phone behaviour you’ll be in a better position to see what you really need from your mobile phone deal, and less likely to carried away with the spiel of the smarmy sales person.

Next think about what you need from your handset? Do you need a camera? Radio? MP3 player? First jot down a list of absolute essentials and then a list of things which you would like, but which you would be willing to compromise on if the price was right.

Now you should have an idea of exactly what it is you’re looking for. For Babe it’s around an hours worth of any network, any time minutes per month and at least 200 text messages (preferably 300), the phone has to be functional – all I ask is that I can talk on it, text on it and take the odd embarrassing piccie of my friends when they’re drunk!

This is probably very different to the kind of thing that you’re after, so I won’t try and advise on every different type of package out there, or suggest which one is right for you. I’ll simply let you sit in on my mission for mobile phone happiness and hope that we both learn something along the way!

Check back tomorrow to see how I get on online…
