Cheap Mobile Phones - Day Four

Now I've set my heart on my pink Barbie-esque Sony Ericsson courtesy of a superb deal from 3 it's time to call my current providers, Orange to let them know that I'm offski.

After much, much, much holding I get through to a helpful lady who when I mention the 3 deal, gives me a tempting offer - The Lilac Motorola handset that I've been lusting after, with 75 mins talk time and 575 fee texts per month for £14, and I can ditch my insurance. Needless to say I am very tempted. But there's one big drawback this deal is only valid for 18 months - the 3 deal is for life!

At first the superficial in me tells me to go for the Orange deal, it will save the hassle of switching and I get the phone I really want. I ask if I can think about it, and spend the afternoon at work preparing email campaigns and musing the finer points of mobile phone contracts. In the end I decide that 3 really does have the best deal.

That evening, after even more holding (embarrassingly I'm on hold for that long that I start to scoff down some biscuits - typically they answer my call when I've got my gob full of Ginger Nuts!) I cancel my Orange contract and head down to my local shopping mall to sign up for my very girlie phone.

The 3 assistant is really helpful. He says the deal has been immensely popular and that some people are taking it out on top of their existing phone package as it works out cheaper than going over their inclusive minutes and texts!

And, here it is...haven't a clue how to work it yet, but isn't it pretty...?

Cute girlie accessories too..yes, they were free...

Bring on the bargainous phone bills - reckon I'll save around £30 a month - a whopping £360 per year! Hurrah!
