The Weekly Shop...and then some...

There have long been controversial plans to open a Tesco in the land of Babe on a Budget. To be honest I've always thought it would be a good idea. With only two small supermarkets in the town and hardly anywhere to park it certainly makes sense.

However, following my little shopping trip this evening, I think it might be best if Tesco's do stay out of town. Myself and Love of my Life popped to our nearest Tesco to pick up the weeks groceries, and, well, on the end of virtually every aisle was something we needed/wanted/used on special offer. Yes, I know strictly speaking that's a good thing as long term it will save me money. But short term it meant we ended up with a heaving trolley of goodies instead of just the sparse essentials that we were planning to get. The thing I want to know is how do they do it? It was almost as if they'd seen me coming and rearranged the shelves to showcase all the things that I like. Even my obscure deodorant was on special offer perched enticingly on the end of the aisle.

There are some very clever people at that there, Tesco's HQ. Another thing for me to look into methinks - how to save money at the supermarket - maybe I should invest in a pair of blinkers?
