Oh dear! Babe is currently consuming half her body weight in choccie biccies. Darn Christmas choccie caught my eye post-Chicken casserole, and the rest alas is...well...cellulite! On the plus side the biccies were a glutinous gift so they haven't cost me anything. But that's not going to be much solace if I end up reinstating my gym membership to shed that choccie induced spare tyre now is it...?
Hormone induced binging aside - I've been very good at keeping track of my spending today. £12.99 on some razor blades in Boots, as well as £1.48 for some shampoo - a bargain thanks to the £3 off designer haircare voucher I snaffled the other day. Yay! Also bought some conditioner for £1.49 with the voucher gleaned from purchasing the extortionately expensive razor blades! The only other money which has left my cherry red purse today is £32 to pay Love of my Life back for the Tesco's shop and a few other groceries.
So, at least I am keeping track of where the money is going. Could I have got better deals today? Well, I might of been able to pick up some cheaper razor blades, but I couldn't locate them in any of the other stores, and as I got my discount vouchers and Boots Advantage points into the bargain I think it's been a pretty good day. Don't think I'm going to have saved much by the end of the month though. Blinkin five week months - who came up with that idea?!
Well, I mentioned yesterday that I was going to trial some money saving tips. Shortly after my blog posting I visited the marvellous thisismoney site and found their fantastic '50 ways to save money', take a look for yourself...

Well, change your attitude to your mortgage is out of the window. The whole point of this little exercise is to enable myself and Love of My Life to get a mortgage in the first place. Also, I'm pleased to say I have no balance on my credit cards, so tip two is out of the window too. I would like to cut the cost of the fuel bills, but I think that will have to be revisited later in the year, we've not really been here long enough to know how much they are in the first place, so how will we know if we're going to save anything by switching? We already have a water meter, although maybe there are ways we can save more water and consequently save more cash? Maybe something for me to look into this week methinks.
If anyone has got any ideas please lemme know.
